Phone consultation with Genesis Labs

Today i had my phone consultation with Genesis Labs in Detroit. Shannon is handling my case and she is fantastic. She was extremely easy to talk to and was very informative and answered all of my questions. Since they only had phone consultations during the day, i had to run out to my car during my lunch hour to talk on the phone since i get no privacy in my office. So, there i was, sitting in my car, in the pouring rain, going over my family health history with some woman i have never met.

Shannon told me that she would like Buccal swabs from me, my parents, both of my brothers, and Justin. Having everyone's DNA will help them when they make my specific "probe". She told me that she would FedEx me a package of 6 Buccal swabs as soon as we paid for their portion of the PGD. After a quick phone call to Justin, $3,750 was put on my credit card and my Buccal Swabs were in the mail!!

A special thanks to Justin for being so understanding. Since the probe takes so long to make (6-10 weeks), i wanted them to get started on it as soon as possible. They will start the probe as soon as they receive our DNA swabs. So, i needed to get those swabs to them quickly so the clock would start on the "probe" creation, which means we needed to pay for the procedure immediately. Justin understood where i was coming from and said, "go for it honey" and $3,750 went on to our credit card! We should receive the swabs on 10/19.
